Approximately 25,000 households in Queensland's southeast found themselves without power on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events passed over the region, producing powerful gusts reaching 109km/h.

Victorian Storm Challenges
Meanwhile, around 1,000 energy customers in the southern state also faced electricity disruptions after the capital city recorded its wettest day in over 500 days.
Rescue organizations responded to 598 emergency reports across the area, primarily for property damage but also for downed trees and inundation.

Climate Outlook
Moist weather were expected to linger along much of eastern Queensland this next several days as a low-pressure trough continued to draw in moisture against the shoreline.
Tomorrow was predicted as the wettest day, with ongoing thunderstorm potential predicted across multiple regions of both states.
Health Warning
Health officials cautioned that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This warning comes after past events where comparable situations led to major medical consequences in the area.
